Worker Support - Is a Tax File Number (TFN) required to use Sven?
Yes, having a Tax File Number (TFN) is a requirement to use Sven Jobs. As part of the onboarding process, you will be asked to provide your TFN to ensure compliance with Australian tax regulations.
Why is a TFN required?
- Tax purposes: Your TFN is essential for accurate tax reporting and to ensure that the appropriate taxes are withheld from your earnings.
- Superannuation contributions: A TFN is necessary to make superannuation contributions on your behalf.
How to provide your TFN:
- During the onboarding process, you will be prompted to enter your TFN. Ensure that you have your TFN ready and enter it accurately.
- If you don't have a TFN, you can apply for one through the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) website. It's important to have a TFN to fulfil your tax obligations.
When a TFN has not been provided. You must withhold 47% from any payment you make to a resident employee and 45% from a foreign resident employee (ignoring any cents), if all of the following apply: they have not quoted their TFN. they have not claimed an exemption from quoting their TFN.
