Worker Support - What happens if a business cancels a shift early?

If a business has ended the shift early or sent you home before the designated shift duration, they will be required to provide a valid reason why. We ask all businesses to respect the workers’ time and know that this may impact their Sven rating. 

All shift durations must have a:

  • Minimum Length: 2 hours
  • Maximum Length: 12 hours

If the business needs to end the shift before 2 hours, you will be paid for the minimum of 2 hours according to Fair Work legislation.
